Agents and projects: a team of AI agents for every project

Updated on 16 October 2026

The agents work in parallel, for hours or for days, and check each other’s work. You see what each one is doing, at every step. You can stop or undo anything. Nothing goes out without you.

In short

Verbatim gives you a team of AI agents, from the first lead to the final draft. You describe your subject in plain words, and the agents start work at once. They work in parallel, for hours or for weeks, and check each other’s work. You see what each one is doing, at every step. Nothing goes out without you.

Engineers already hand whole projects to AI agents. Everyone who researches, analyses and writes still types questions into a chat box. Verbatim brings agents to that work.

A team of agents, each with its role

Each agent has its role:

  • the Research agent searches the web and public registers
  • the Reading agent reads every page of your documents
  • the Monitoring agent follows hundreds of sources, day and night
  • the People agent finds who knows and how to reach them
  • the Prep agent prepares your interviews
  • the Checking agent checks every claim against its excerpt
  • the Writing agent writes the first draft, in your style

Verbatim coordinates them from the agents panel, which sits on every screen.

A question, a task, a project

Verbatim handles three sizes of work:

  • a question gets its answer in seconds, with its source
  • a task takes from a few minutes to a few hours
  • a project lasts for days or months

Reading three archive collections and building a timeline of 146 dated events is a task. It is ready in 1 hour 40 minutes. The “Make it a project” button turns it into a project.

In parallel, for hours or for weeks

On a project, the agents work at the same time. In the example of an investigation into a plant, the Reading agent reads your 40,000 pages. Meanwhile, the Monitoring agent follows 648 sources. The Checking agent checks the others’ work, claim by claim. All of them run on two proprietary technologies: the algorithm that ties every fact to its excerpt, and the style engine developed with linguists.

Every screen shows what your work needs

Verbatim’s places never move: Home, Projects, Conversations, Monitoring, Live, People, Agents and Settings. Every project has the same tabs: Overview, Sources, Create, People, Sessions and Agents. Inside a project, the agents lay out what the work needs: the template of the draft, the sources next to each paragraph, the actions offered on a selection. What you pin stays where you put it.

What each agent is doing, at every step

The Agents page shows what each agent is doing across all your projects, with the time of its next update. The “Stop” button halts a task or an agent. The “Undo” button reverses an action, yours or an agent’s. A message drafted by an agent only goes out after “Review and send”.

Four project types

Every project starts from a type: Journalism, Long-form writing, Analysis or Research. The type sets the agents, the drafts and the actions for its profession. You can change the type at any time.

Questions

Do I need technical skills?

No. You describe your subject in plain words. Nothing needs setting up before the first result.

Which AI model does Verbatim use?

Verbatim tests models from several labs on every task. It uses the one that does the task best.

Where can I use Verbatim?

In your browser. The iPhone app and access from Claude and ChatGPT are coming soon. On iPhone, you will follow your agents, approve what goes out and listen in on an interview.
